ENABLE THE FILE SHARING PLEASE. WHAT ARE YOU DOING?WHY YOU DONT ENABLE IT? IS IT HARD ENABLE?
This app looks like it used to be good, but not being able to load my own dos games into it with my ipad air 2, and no keyboard support for games makes it a no go. Luckily I only paid .99 for it so I am not too worried. I will keep it for now with the hope that it will be updated to work. Honestly I wish most games had keyboard support and customizable controls. Thanks for making this and look forward to the next update or two.
Another big impertinance of Apple: File access with iOS 8.3 no longer possible. So its no longer possible to copy / manage DOS programs with iDOS 2. In principle iDOS2 would be a great app - unless you update your iPhone to 8.3 or higher! My suggestion to Chaoji Li is to move the batch file folder and the games folder to option "App File Sharing", so it would be possible to work even with iOS 8.3! Anyway thanks for the short time I could work senseful with iDOS2 (until I made the mistake and update my iPhone to 8.3)
It does not work with an iphone5s and ios 9.0.1. But the same app still runs fine on my ipad air with 9.0.1. Crash to homescreen when dosbox loads.
It Starts, but when I try to access options, the App crashes ...
I like to spend time with this app. I mean i spend nearly ten years with these level of computers.
I really like Thai dos emulator, but you can no longer enter any commands. The only thing you can do is play either of the two games. Please fix this!
It will only allow you to play Duke Nukem and Haunted. You cant enter anything into the command line.
Finally, I have a reason to dust off my old DOS games. Installing into iDOS was not easy, but not terribly difficult, either. Folks who use the app right "out-of-the-box" will notice only two games, because you have to import others via iTunes or another method and then modify play.bat to recognize the new games. Overall, though, the app is every bit as flexible as DOSBox, and Im now happily enjoying both The Settlers II and Master of Orion II, on my iPhone.
Despite appearances, it is possible to set this up to run custom DOS stuff, look around for tutorials. My chief issue with this port is that the onscreen D-pad / joystick (mostly the D-pad) is absolutely HORRID and next to unusable for all the platformers I so badly want to play on this.
I can play whatever dos games I want on PC using dosbox. I purchased this idos2 instead of using the free idos app just want to play my own dos game not the preinstalled default ones, but cant!
But iDOS2 doesnt work on iOS9 Please fix it.
App crash at start. Программа вылетает при запуске. iPhone 6 Plus iOS 9.0.2
1. File Sharing Options are not enabled making it difficult to put games on iOS 9 2. There is no way to get off of the Play List. 3. You still cant rotate with iPhone
This is the real deal! I cant believe idos made it back into the AppStore. Its great to run dos games from the 90s. Of course you can do more than just run dos games. Hopefully iDos 2 is here to stay for a long time. It would be nice if Chaoji Li makes iDos 2 just as good as Dosbox Turbo from the google store. Now we need Aemula - 80486 PC Emulator!
iDos gives capability to do many things on my iPod, I love it! How long before Apple takes this down though?
iDos 2 represents a milestone in bringing other experiences to IOS. Beautifully and masterfully done.
I want to play "scorched earth".
To those of you who dont read up on ios updates or just select the "auto update" toggle... Its your own fault some apps wont work fully in the newest ios updates... Apple does it intentionally... You are just cattle... Programmed to follow the path without question... Every new ios update has devious little "quirks" that put you in less control and apple in more control... Stricter restrictions hidden in newer prettier and seemingly more advanced updates limit you to purchasing more expensive "mainstream" apps and guide you away from Indy, and home brewed apps. Idos2 is awesome, it works perfectly, I am so happy that apple has left it in the AppStore, chaoji li continues to remain vigilant with the IDOS platform.. And next time try not to blindly update into an ios version without looking at the pros and cons, lost features vs gained features, then complain about limitations created by yourselves
1Download iexplorer on Mac 2navigate to apps, then to idos2 3in the app folder, find a file named "dospad.cfg" it is in a folder, (I forget which one) 4drag said file to your desktop 5open said file with TextEdit 6In this text file find where it says [autoexec] 7under that it delete the word "play" 8 replace original file with edited one Close iexplorer and if you open idos 2, it is now a fully functional ms dos prompt Also, to get games, in iexplorer/apps/idos2/documents/games, place game folders in there then you can launch them from idos 2
