Finally Back and Better than before
The latest version removes file sharing which is very useful to me as I run dos apps that create text files I use in Notes and other text editors. I will stay with 1.3 until file sharing is restored. See below for a method of using v.1.3 in landscape mode.
Until the developer updates this app, the only way to run it on iPhone running iOS 9 is in landscape mode (open iDos 2 and it crashes; open any app that runs in landscape mode; double click the home button, find iDos 2 and tap it; it will then open in landscape mode!). My iPad Air 2 runs this app in either mode.
I’ve been waiting for this app to come back. It lets me run all my DOS apps (yes, I still use DOS). More importantly, it gives me access to the apps and the data they produce from iTunes!
It works great and is better than the first version.
To get to the DOS “c:” prompt, connect your iOS device to iTunes with the USB cable and click the apps button. Scroll down to iDOS 2 and you will see all the files including “play.bat.” Drag it to the Desktop and edit it with textedit to remove all but the first four lines. Rename the original file oldplay.bat and drag both files back into the iTunes app. Restart iDOS 2 and you will get the “c:” prompt from which you can run apps, etc.
